RIVE

It's perfectly functional aside from the few minor glitches I experienced, and the core gameplay is solid, but it does so little in terms of content variety and expansion, Has such a limied amount of variety in setting and styles, and relies too much on trial and error as a substitute for more entertaining forms of challenge that I can't find any great joy from it.

The game’s difficulty ramps up quickly, and by the second half, RIVE becomes a brutal test of skill, timing, and memorization.

The narrative is light but entertaining, driven by snappy dialogue and a self-aware sense of humor.

Despite some persistent control problems (I was using a Steam controller), I managed to breeze through the game in 2/3 of the time suggested (3.9 hours vs. 6), and it was consistently well-polished in terms of graphics, music, and sound-effects.

The twin-stick controls are smooth and precise, offering tight responsiveness whether you're dodging incoming fire, platforming through deadly gauntlets, or returning fire with a wide array of weapons.

Other than these things, this game is a serious blast, due to its quick pace, great bombastic sound design and an absolute effect overload.
