What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
- Superb dialogue and themes: The Hylics inspiration comes in through here, most characters talk a bunch of gibberish that range from weirdly insightful commentary that has to do with the themes of the game itself - Memories, identity - and that identity's continued degradation, escaping the cycle of life-death-rebirth or samsara, forgiveness and what one needs to achieve, or just random garbage like one sorta schizophrenic girl's quest to get Huge tidz.
I think the cons really really sour the experience in the wake of playability, but overall this is still wonderful time that isn't going to be the most action filled 18-20 hours of your life, but it will be a really intriguing experience that might stick with you a while, with the visuals being striking, with a musical identity like few games, the story and characters being both amusing and poignant, the themes centering about buddhism and other spiritual concepts, and just, all in all being a wild ride for those who like this sorta thing, I'd recommend them Disillusion ST.
- An absolutely fantastic soundtrack, which to me is one of the best at emulating that dream-esque vibe that I have seen in games, and was the main reason for me to try this game out.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 4 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
