There is a lot of different characters linked to pop culture etc. many enemy types and variants, enourmous amount of bosses and acceptable amount of 'consumables' that help progress through the game.
My favourite sidescroller ever and probably one of my favourite games aswell, incredibly fun and chaotic gameplay and vivid colors with gameplay that never gets old because its so special and unique, so many levels and custom levels by other players, with a incredibly well and thought out coop system, its really a must-have, it can be a bit difficult at times but its the kind difficulty thats fun, deaths aren't too punishing and losing keeps you coming back for more, every unlockable character is well thought out with their own dedicated attack, special attack and melee attack amd other fun gimmicks.
Having put over 40 hours into the PS4 version before picking it up on Steam, I can confidently say this is an absolute must-buy for couch co-op.
The game goes harkens back to the 80's action movies with lots of explosions going off all the time, characters spoofed straight out of 80's action movies, and it has local/online multi-player.
Played on the Steam Deck, both handheld and docked to the TV for local co-op, and it runs fantastically.
The graphics are fine; the pixel style has its charm but isn't anything special.

Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 4 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
