What players think
The recurring themes across 189 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Shadow Blade: Reload is an exhilarating side-scrolling action platformer that demonstrates how rewarding precision-based gameplay can be when paired with responsive controls and thoughtful level design.
This reviewed is written with me completing the story and some of the challenge levels along with replaying some of the original level back in masterclass difficulty to see what changes.
In fact, Shadow Blade's graphics are quite solid overall for the most part.
Controls, to preface I did not play the game at all the keyboard, sure you can rebind but god help me because this is a platformer game so you pretty much would want a controller for those precise controls, not that you can't play with a keyboard of course especially if you prefer it that way.
The audio design effectively supports the fast-paced gameplay with energetic music that enhances tension and excitement throughout each mission.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 4 sampled reviews and are not shown.
