You also have 20 slots to create custom characters, which I've found to be really fun.
Gameplay is smooth and fun with every character feeling varied enough to try them out, the roster is great and one of the biggest in the Samurai franchise and personally had some surprise favourites who otherwise I would never have tried in an Orochi game or previous SW games.
My bro and best friend taught me the nuances of all this stuff when we played Dynasty warriors 5 in co-op ages ago!
Overall I still recommend DW8XL as the ultimate Musou game but if you're looking for something to play after that, this is that game with less depth but better graphics and some QoL upgrades for an extra 15$, not too bad imo
Performance on Steam Deck is also really good, and you don't have to tweak Proton or fiddle around with graphical settings to get it working, unlike some other musou titles on PC.
It loads up quickly on HDD and runs smoothly for the most part during gameplay (on my R7 2700X + GTX 1060 6GB at highest settings) with some occasional frame rate drops which are quite trivial.
