What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The aesthetic is tight and even the menus are very visually stimulating, the gameplay is high-octane action all the way through, and the difficulty - high as it might be - feels actually fair; once everything clicks, at least.
The world is rendered in sharp, angular graphics drenched in crimson and shadow, evoking the visual intensity of a gothic fever dream.
KILLKNIGHT is a super fun twinstick shooter with an amazing depth and soundtrack.
Another thing I’d love to see is voiceovers for the characters.
On a positive note, I did test this on the Steam Deck as well and it ALSO runs like butter!
The intoxicating sensation of what your character can do with a controller in your hands--maybe most of all the counter/parries or heavy sword swings that have a super tangible THUNK to them--is unmatched.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
