Some characters are cool looking, some are plain looking, some are trippy looking, some are funny looking but it never gets boring finding and meeting new characters and it keeps me wanting to play more JUST to see how crazier the character and level designs get.
Also, I felt the same way about the level design, previously I felt like you were trying to create some psychedelic exploration but it wasn't working for me, the games had a very default look to them, but I think in this one you constantly get to experience new visuals and locations, as well as it feels like you putting more manual labor into the design.
(+) I thought the game had a nice visual progression, many locations that look completely different with the coloring, mood and texture.
What surprised me the most though weren’t the visuals as I would imagine, which are trippy and unique but the atmospheric and amazing soundtrack which not only complemented but even elevated the experience.
