I call it the Roszak Paradox, I came across this franchise back in the good old days of Kongregate Flash games with "Adventure Stroy" (the best game of the franchise in my humble opinion) and I always ignored the pop-up add with Mighty Oak telling me to play this game, Now I don't know if I regret not playing it back then or if I'm grateful I got to experience playing the series in chronological order thanks to the Steam release of EBF collection (which includes EBF1 and 2, Adventure story, Bullet Heaven 1 and some other cool games).
The game constantly encourages experimentation, whether through skill combinations or equipment choices, making progression feel dynamic rather than linear.
The soundtrack in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 was fantastic and perfectly complemented the gameplay.
The game captivated me from the very beginning with its charming pixel art style and humorous storyline.
