While the story/dialogue is somewhat confusing, the actual gameplay elements are truly one of a kind.
Co-op is available, and playing co-op can help make up for the game's shortcomings by making interesting combos possible.
In fact it handled better than Tomb Raider for me, and even allows you to use the Emotiv Brain Computer interface, for really getting into character as a mighty telekinetic.
So after playing this game shortly after launch on Linux, I have to say, that even though I have not tested it under windows, 30-40 fps with a GTX 970 just doesn't seem right.
I purchased this to play on SteamOS with a wireless gamepad (xbox360 controller), this experience was pretty horrible.
