War of the Human Tanks

I'm really in love with the setting, and all the little things you can learn about the rather disenfranchised battle-androids they call Human Tanks; the story really exceeded my expectations in every way.

There are plenty of different unit types that can switch up the way you play (though I tended to shy away from the poor Shock tanks because they just break my heart when they yell "I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" before exploding) and the long and rewarding research lines kept me grinding away at the free battles for a long time.

There's full voice acting, fun animations and even some really catchy music that makes me itch to buy the soundtrack.

War of the Human Tanks is a unique turn-based strategy with a very malleable turn-order, a grid-based combat system, and has a surprisingly deep story that is both humerous and light-hearted, but able to take a more serious tone where needed.

Apparently, the art style just needed some getting used to, because once I got into it, I thought the graphics were actually pretty good.

The AI is fairly challenging, and even with heavily-upgraded units, the later battles can really surprise you with how they masterfully crank up the difficulty.
