Story and characters
Players who bring up Story and characters mostly praise it.
The game's story takes place in the future where the Earth has finally recovered from an ongoing war that was slowly killing the planet thanks to "Project One" as our titular heroine was overlooking the recovery of Earth over the course of 10,000 years so people can live in peace once more.

Audio
Players who bring up Audio mostly praise it.
Although the sound effects are stock, they do work well with this game, and the soundtrack provided by DEKU especially complements the game's stages.

Visually SUGURI looks fairly simple but Orange_Juice pulls off some nice visuals along with some improvements from working on QP Shooting!, especially towards the later half of the game, the sprites nicely defined from the colorful scenery, though it can be easy to lose track of where you are in the middle of hectic situations, and the character art still nice to look at for a game from 2005.

Controls
Players who bring up Controls mostly praise it.
On the subject of the Steam release of this game, while far from perfect, thankfully it seems like Rockin' Android learned from their mistakes of their rush-job efforts of Acceleration of SUGURI X-Edition HD, while adding some improved controller support, native keyboard remapping, better modern Windows compatibility, and higher resolutions (sadly only for Windowed mode) over the previous releases of SUGURI.
