What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The campaign's narrative, delivered with a perfect blend of sinister glee and biting wit, keeps you invested as you conquer the overworld one hapless kingdom at a time.
I would really love to see this remade to play better on modern PCs and take advantage of the greater graphics potential.
This game has great dark, tounge-in-cheek humour along with simple to learn gameplay and a tough but fair difficulty curve.
Thankfully, there's still multiplayer.
The game’s audio design is equally stellar: ambient dungeon sounds, the wailing of prisoners, and the snide, sarcastic quips of the narrator create an atmosphere that’s simultaneously ominous and delightfully comedic.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
