Level design is fun and breezy, and it has a cute little story, but nothing too ambitious narrative wise.
The visuals are good and very readable for a (mostly) 1-bit colour scheme.
This can be mitigated by mapping the d-pad inputs to the left-stick inputs with the Steam Input API, but given how the in-game menus support using the d-pad, it's weird that the main gameplay itself doesn't, especially for a 2D platformer.
MotionRec is a tightly designed lo-fi crunchtacular puzzle platformer masterpiece in the same league as Öoo, Moonleap, Elechead, I Wanna Lockpick, and Magicube (these last two are outliers because of very high difficulty).
Great music, level design, and atmosphere all the way through.
