Progression is not linear, exploration is encouraged
The game is well made, the Sprite based graphics are polished, the main gameplay loop is fun, there are some caveats though.
The music is appropriately themed and the sound effects work really well.
There's also a tiny bit of environmental storytelling and a lose plot that's somewhat nice, like skulls of former "Pinball Heroes" lying around in some levels or being part of the level solutions
In a way having a challenge run of your game be solely based on "don't use the base-game mechanic" also feels a bet ehh... focus is a good mechanic for a game that has precises shots, removing it for the player isn't really fun, there are better ways to come up with hard difficulty for achievement.
The graphics are very polished and functional, the game looks crisp and beautiful on the steam deck, and the use of lighting adds so much atmosphere.
