Demon Tides

If there is a mechanic that has been tried and tested in a 3D (and in some cases 2D) platformer it is very likely here and implemented *well*.

Movement is far and away the primary appeal of a game like this, with the window dressings that are the story/music/etc being good enough that it doesn't bring the experience down at all.

The soundtrack of this game is definitely one of the best in any of the games I've played recently.

Although not nearly as replayable as that game was nor is the skill ceiling nearly as high, it's also got a much lower learning curve that makes it fun for first time players even at the full asking price.

Also, a little note on the graphics and visuals: I was a little put off by the original demon turfs art style and the mix of 2D character and 3D turned me away from the game when I tried the demo so I think this games switch to full 3D with a cel shaded art style is a very welcome change and the visuals in general look a lot prettier in this game.

I don't mind combat in platformers if it's fun and doesn't distract from the actual platforming too much, but at least this game's combat doesn't feel like a waste of time.
