Oozi: Earth Adventure

From the moment you dive into Oozi: Earth Adventure, the game's bright, detailed pixel art style immediately stands out.

The story mode difficulty is pretty low (that's good) as I completed it on Hardcore on my first attempt and I rarely play platformers.

Checkpoints are liberally scattered at first, though they stretch out in the later stages that really push you to master the environments through repetition.

For a small indie game, it is also bursting with content: playing through the Story and collecting all large stars unlocks Challenge and Arcade modes, and in total there is a pretty great amount of levels.

I loved it for the art direction, the simple mechanics that induced nostalgia in me, and the comfortable gamepad controls (I would not play a game like this with mouse and keyboard, out of personal preference).

The soundtrack features upbeat, catchy tunes that change dynamically to reflect the mood of each level—from serene and peaceful melodies in natural areas to more intense, rhythmic tracks during action sequences.
