The colorful lighting, glowing environmental effects, and smooth animations make every interaction between water, lava, steam, and ice visually impressive despite the game's minimalist artistic direction.

I've played this through (mostly co-op with a buddy via remote play but with some solo replays to mop up gems, secrets etc) and it's been really enjoyable.

Their grand sizes and aggressive behaviors are formidable while maintaining a fair degree of difficulty.

The cartoony aesthetics may generate an overarching sense of light and casual circumstances, but the narrative is a relatively mature analysis and exposition of humanity's continued faults.

Sound effects provide excellent feedback for environmental reactions, weapon fire, and rescue operations, helping players understand the consequences of their actions without cluttering the screen with unnecessary visual indicators.
