Well, I just finished PixelJunk Shooter after ~11 hours of gameplay, and I can say that every minute of it was enjoyable.
The colorful lighting, glowing environmental effects, and smooth animations make every interaction between water, lava, steam, and ice visually impressive despite the game's minimalist artistic direction.
I've played this through (mostly co-op with a buddy via remote play but with some solo replays to mop up gems, secrets etc) and it's been really enjoyable.
- There is a story that is slowly revealed by each of the special survivors rescued, and it is realistically intriguing, even serving as a kind of critical commentary on the exploitation of natural resources.
- The game may be played with either the mouse and keyboard, or with a gamepad.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
