The characters, while not the most diversely designed or anything, were very enjoyable.
Fantastic Visuals
I do think it will pan wonders, because features like expansion packs, variable art styles and level progression, and fan-selected palettes, can become mainstay ingredients for creating newer, fresher titles set in the diverse land of Sequin.
While on the topic of visuals and audio, the soundtrack to Half Genie Hero is AMAZING, easily some of the best platforming music I've heard in ages.
I played it with both the XBox Windows controller and the Steam controller, and didn't have any issues and didn't have to map anything out.
