I start this review with that even though it's not related to the remake itself specifically because i'm writing this review to those my age or younger that maybe are interested in the series or came to this page by pure chance, the wizardry series was able to click with me as a "modern" gamer, even after tens of hours of trial and error, reading the manuals over and over, mapping by hand, and getting through that barrier of its highly obtuse(well, not really obtuse, it just that it requires a change in mindset if you are used to modern game design) and unforgiving game design(not to mention the old graphics but honestly i didn't care about that), it may not click with you immediately, honestly it may not click with you at all, but all i'm saying is that you have to give it at least one chance, there's a reason why the original is one of the most influential games of all time and you won't truly understand why until you play it.

I'm not like most of you playing this remake, admittedly as a zoomer myself i found about about the wizardry series by pure chance, starting my journey with bane of the cosmic forge, having two failed party attempts before getting my first successful completion at about 60 hrs of gameplay, and it's with crusaders that my love for the series cemented itself, getting my first party imported all the way from wiz 6 to 8 and finishing the trilogy was one of my favorite experiences i ever had not just in rpgs but gaming in general.

Interface
Players who bring up Interface mostly praise it.
Still, if you can get past a few interface things, the game is still as solid today as it was decades (and decades) ago.

Audio
Players who bring up Audio mostly praise it.
Where the original release was sparse in presentation, this version introduces music and improved sound design that bring the dungeon to life in subtle but meaningful ways.

Switched to controller and it's been okay, but really bizarre.
