The graphics are functional, the music is filled with retro vibes in a good way, the levels are well designed, you’re thrown straight to the gameplay with little ‘story’ getting in the way, the game auto-saves frequently and it doesn’t overstay its welcome.

As a casual gamer I found the difficulty level to be just about right, though some of the levels took more than a few tries to figure out.

Escape Goat is a fun 2D platformer, nice story (sort of), very helpful tutorial, the only downside is that the game is too short (all rooms have 6 in total) where I have already reached the 4th door out of 8 doors (excluding the exit) and also the puzzles are a bit too easy until later on in the game... let's hope these might be changed in the sequel!

The grapich and sound design is pretty charming, going for a retro style, but one that seems to be based on old PC games rather than NES games, which is a nice change of pace.
