The gameplay is tight, responsive, and incredibly satisfying.
The graphics and sound design are solid and very polished, and one thing I haven't seen a lot of people talking about is how good the 'body horror' aspect of the game is.
i think last year my friend introduced me to this game at first i found it boring but i would still play with him then he would like tell me about the game which was actually interesting then a few days ago out of nowhere he gifted me the game and i really didnt think i would play it but i downloaded repentance+ (multiplayer dlc) and started to play with him and another friend at first i was a bit trash but i started to play better we started beating the bosses and i was trolling them sometimes but in general it was fun.
So, when you first play the game, you are playing a lootbox simulator hoping that the item you pick up or spend your coins or life on, will help you.
The pixel art is beautifully detailed, the soundtrack is hauntingly memorable, and every element of the game leans into its twisted, surreal identity in a way few games dare to.
Although I’m a fan of the roguelike genre and I find the overall atmosphere appealing, the movement and hitboxes feel off to me.
