Other reviews likened the gameplay to playing a healer in classic WoW, I never got into it myself but if you're a fan of that gameplay then you should definitely give it a shot, there's some nostalgia bait here if you're that person.
I also really like the art style, the pixel art and neon graphics are very aesthetically pleasing.
The sense of forward momentum comes less from narrative development and more from the satisfaction of refining your tools, discovering stronger synergies, and surviving encounters that previously felt impossible.
The music is very chill, the sound design is nice and satisfying, the animations are engaging and transparent about what mechanics are happening, and most importantly, the progression feels rewarding but not a hand out all while being a very relaxing game even when you are pushing difficulty.
