Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

It's not gonna hold up to modern AAA RPG games, but if you're looking for a fun familiar turn-based JRPG experience with a slightly fresh/different leveling up mechanic and multi-generation storyline, this is a good choice.

Really gave the story a sense of epic span across not only the world but throughout history too.

And you only level up the weapon or magic skills that you actually use in combat, which I felt was interesting and different.

The amount of free style you can have with your team build, the main single plot but with several non linear routes that you can take, so many consequence of action and choice you've made, the difficulty of battle that put understanding of game to use.

The big winner is the ability to adjust your party roster from taverns (including a new tavern in your castle), which solves the biggest and most annoying part of setting up a new generation - no more running over half the world through dangerous combat zones trying to recruit that Amazon.

The graphics are really well done, and my computer despite being a bit older at this point ran it pretty well with no issues.
