The only mod you truly need is Custom Shaders Patch (CSP), which is what has updated the game to keep it looking and feeling modern, introducing a day-night cycle, graphics upgrades like new lighting and effects, DLSS, extended physics allowing for things like dirt tracks, all for free.

If you want to race a more realistic game on a controller, Project CARS 1 and 2 are great, more controller friendly alternatives to this game, but otherwise this game is UNTOUCHABLE in the value department and will have MASSIVE community for years to come!

The game is also a very very steep learning curve in driving physics given the starting road car based 'Career Mode' progression since road cars are notoriously hard to drive fast consistently imo yet alone without a proper steering rack based ffb.
