What players think
The recurring themes across 76 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The items that you get at the end of the fights have very good versatility and synergies between them and with the abilities of the characters.
Each stage has definitive goal and either an optional mission or a secret mission, these add difficulty and replayability while also rewarding you with new gear, items, and spells that open up new tools for you to use.
One of the great things about Radix Chronicle is that gear doesn't become useless once you find the next "upgrade", rather being about using the right gear for the right battle and also finding gear that fits your preferred playstyle, especially since weapons have unique time trials that may be easier or harder for different players.
Update: After now having completed 12 stages over 9 hours of play, I want to mention that both the story and the soundtrack are really growing on me.
The pixel art style is both a strong positive as well as a bit of mixed bag.
I would not hesitate to recommend this as a great first tactics game for its simplicity and easy to understand interface, nor would I hesitate to recommend this to someone looking for a challenge as the optional challenges can really turn the heat up when you've got a firm grasp of the game.
