Daikatana

Old school FPS gameplay and controls: The game feels pretty good to control in general and a lot of the weapons are fun to use.

For instance, some voice actor performances in the singleplayer campaign are just utter garbage, the animations were even ugly by the time of its release and the «Save Gems» system is a total abomination - but the fast and gory gameplay, artwork, story, characters and even in most parts the music really do stand out on their own.

Amongst other things, it contains HD resolution support, better textures, unlimited save features, AI fixes and perhaps most importantly the ability to play without sidekicks - which is recommended since they add hardly anything to the gameplay itself.

+Incredibly advanced combat system for an FPS (you can either level your character or the sword, there is also a multitude of powerups to collect)

With that said, I enjoyed the story, scenery variety, solid weapon roster and satisfying enemy gibbing.

There are even multiplayer servers, where I was able to find matches at the most random of times, and Daikatana's multiplayer is actually legendary.
