Overall, Verdun is a great game, if you can get past the lag and performance issues, and I believe that is mainly because it brings a fresh type of experience for an online multiplayer FPS by taking place in WWI and by taking a great and well done approach to the trench warfare since most FPS out there are pretty much taking place in a modern day setting.

It's not a perfect multiplayer game, and the distinctive WW1 setting doesn't set it apart as much as it would like to, but the balance of difficulty means that it skirts some of that frustration awaiting new players entering an older MP game.
