What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
However, this has been much improved on, and at times the suspension of belief fades away and I enjoy the cutscenes as I would in a story driven game like the last of us (not at the same level technically, but am able to enjoy it in a similar way).
Aside from the gorgeous graphics, which of course help a lot, every character is extremely interactive with other NPCs and the environment.
I absolutely loved the first Horizon game, from the gameplay to the story, the characters and the worldbuilding; and jumping blind into Forbidden West, i wasn't quite sure if the sequel could reach the very high bar that Zero Dawn had set for me.
The facial expressions are also very well done and almost never exaggerated, and all of this (together with some truly marvellous voice acting) makes for extremely real-feeling people, while avoiding the typical uncanny look and feel of 90% of other videogames, where the NPCs just stand mostly still while talking, an effect usually exacerbated by the artificial-looking facial expressions they put on.
I've noticed a few stutters, and the game has crashed a couple times from low PC memory so I had to free up some space, but otherwise the game runs good once I optimized everything for my PC.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
