What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The soundtrack of the game again reminds me of original Nintendo JRPG’s like Dragon Warrior/Quest and the Original Final Fantasy, with just a hint of Gameboy Pokémon Red/Green.
The game options themselves come with an in depth guide to hero-rearing and gameplay mechanics that explains everything in great detail if you’re confused about anything.
The writing, retro graphics and sound, as well as the multitude of Idle settings and color palletes to choose from really makes the game stand out.
The Menu music is clean, and MIDI scored and even through my computer made me long for the little pinky-fingernail-sized speaker my old Gameboy had.
The art is really cute, I can't speak for the soundtrack because I mute it (as usually i'm working and don't want the same thing on loop hehe, not because I don't like it).
Controls are great with controller and steam deck but the visual prompts are for keyboard so it can be confusing in a few minor areas.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
