I played the demo and I have to say, the 3D really makes the races more engaging while keeping the cartoony art style it's always had.
The third positive thing is the story and the different shops.
The flock was an impressively fleshed out feature that made for a very fun distraction from the traditional gameplay loop, and improving aspects of the flock, decorating, etc. were a great way to waste time.
