What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The worldbuilding is deep and unique, supported by a compelling narrative that I honestly have never seen executed this well before.
I know that many games have combined art style and gameplay over the years (some great ones include Bastion and Limbo from years ago and then more recent ones like Hollow Knight and Cuphead), but this felt like one of the first I'd ever played where you were playing a cartoon.
Combined with the gorgeous hand-drawn art style and fantastic soundtrack, the series creates an atmosphere that feels special.
The soundtrack is excellent (though not as amazing as the Tooth and Tail soundtrack from the same composer).
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
