Combat is a genuinely unique blend of turn-based tactics RPG and real-time semi-bullet-hell (sort of Into the Breach meets Final Fantasy ATB meets... okay so I don't actually know the names of any bullet-hell games), and after some frustrations during the initially steep learning curve I found it totally thrilling.
