was on track to surpass its predecessor in almost every aspect (except maybe the soundtrack): the narrative was even more engrossing and suspenseful, the city was fleshed out even more, the polish on the minigames and inspectable evidence really impressed me, and Sonny & Marty are still one of the best investigating duos I've played in a video game.
There's a constant soft soundtrack of jazz music, and somehow, there's even a dynamic light system: lighting effects, neon signs, moving shadows, rain-slick reflections, and changes in illumination.
I completely fell in love with the witty writing, BEAUTIFUL art style, and meaningful plot.
The gameplay is varied and engaging, with updated interrogation mechanics, new puzzles (like the fun broken-glass jigsaw), and clever world-building through its codex.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 4 sampled reviews and are not shown.
