Story and characters

Altogether the game is quite a mess; the story is rather cliche with many unrealistic (and unexplained) aspects, however I still got captivated by it and really liked the characters!

The story is well done, also nice ost.

so i think that honestly it was not at all a really fun game or anything bc mechanically it felt really uncomfortable to play with so many condensed interactables and 90% of them just being to fill the room. to progress the story it really is just a bunch of repetitive clicking all over the place, and i resorted to a guide because it felt pretty tedious to go through. if you like toxic yuri, jirai kei, and cheesy magic of friendship endings you might like this if you play for the true ending. i'd honestly say even the writing wasn't very strong as there were many times i was frustrated with the characters dodging dialogue points for the sake of "suspense," the game is supernatural but doesn't really answer questions you might have about the magic's origins, and also noa and akane are static characters but it feels really convenient when nemu and suzuka make character changes usually resolving things with very little persuasion making the whole thing seem like it was completely avoidable. also where is nemu getting all these death traps genuinely. the visuals were absolutely the strongest thing this game offers, with the spritework and cgs being visually gorgeous. that being said since this game tries to be an edgy thriller mystery but it also is explicitly pandering with completely unnecessary panty shots that do not fit the rest of the game's atmosphere so it really feels like a waste of talent. even though i enjoyed the game, i agree with much of the criticism it's received and probably wouldn't actually recommend it as you probably can't find as much enjoyment out of it if you aren't a ♥♥♥♥♥ for the very surface level things i liked it for which was as i said earlier jirai kei yuri 😭
