The most interesting thing in the game is the buildcrafting, however progression is tied to rng, you get equipment and spells by opening ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOOT BOXES, and you need duplicates in order to level both your equipment and spells.

Gameplay is pretty good, combat is tactical but quick and each character has several builds you can play round with.

Gemeplay aside, I love the art and character design, and find myself really vibing to the music lol.

I know the devs intend to add guilds and an 'island defense (player home)' mode which should add more to multiplayer.

Thus, Waven is aimed mainly at players who like Ankama's signature TRPG and art style/world building (which remains very unique and this time benefits from voice acting and an stupendous adaptive OST) enough to not feel bothered about the systems being left behind.

Each encounter gets tougher at higher levels and presents it's own variant of not quite puzzle like game play that gets more interesting if you do play with others in co-op.
