Obviously, a few extra locations or characters that have an actual purpose would be nice.
I can easily imagine this becoming a great little gem with many tweaks to the gameplay.
(+) I think you actually got the mood down very well, nice visuals too with the day/night cycle, pretty backgrounds, and just the design for the desert.
Things I loved: The sound design and music, zooming in blurring the protagonist watching two people fight it out in the distance, the art style, the general unforgiving atmosphere, the color choices both during the day and the night.
