Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth

I immediately got immersed in the story and the characters only after spending in the prologue a couple of minutes.

Music and sound effects are well put together in some special events making the whole feeling a lot more intense.

If you're open to story-first games, it offers something rare: a medieval drama full of political intrigue, emotional depth, and slow-burning tension, told through point-and-click gameplay and gorgeous, hand-painted visuals.

For its balls in exploring such topics, and the seriousness with which they are handled, I'd rate the tone as excellent.

I'm playing this on steam deck and have yet to have any issues other than controler setup.
