Sword of the Stars: The Pit

So the game should be good for the casual gamer,to the hardcore gamer.There are lots of skills you can level up with skill points + with use of the skills themselves.

I love this game almost as much as I love dungeons of dredmor but in sci-fi way.If you like rogue-likes + sci-fi get the game.Lots of mobs,items,weapons,armors,skills,stats,buffs,debuffs, and enemies to have fun with.

Now onto the world-building... in terms of the playable characters, monsters, items, surroundings and computer messages, everything is consistent and well presented, providing an interesting environment to explore and plunder, but the best parts that really stand out are rare.

It's probably the roguelike that nails atmosphere the best - the graphics, audio and interface are satisfying, and the game is surprisingly immersive.

However it's a well-executed implementation of the genre with an interesting background story and theme that offers a huge amount of replayability and a variety of different levels of challenge for someone to find their individual level of comfort.

The soundtrack is immersive and interesting, but not in-your-face, and the controls are simplified but still leave enough decision-making capacity... no more pressing 'q' to 'quaff' potions!
