What players think
The recurring themes across 45 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
i love the atmosphere of this game. the difficulty and the art make things feel threatening and oppressive. i often find myself waiting in a safe spot and just watching, waiting for the right moment until i can rush through the next section of the level. all of this does a good job at reinforcing the story of a little kid lost in another, scarier world. there are also nice little touches throughout, like the slide near the beginning or the enemies that just sit on a ledge kicking their legs back and forth. things that didn't *need* to be there, but give the game a lot of personality.
[UPDATE: some of the things listed below such as incoherent save spots and weird tech-y issues have been mostly patched out by the devs, I am choosing to leave my review as negative due to the issues i still find with the game, but i do implore people to make their own decision after reading my review as to if they want to play or not, as i didn't actually dislike the gameplay experience myself.]
the graphics are pretty good, i don't really have any comments about the music because i was too focused on trying not to die from holding one of the directional keys for a frame too long or not being able to cancel my dive early enough to avoid falling off a platform. i do genuinely think this could be a good game if it was given a bit more polish.
I would like to see keyboard remapping if at all possible, as currently it appears that the only remapping you can do is controller remapping.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
