What players think
The recurring themes across 166 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Now, on top of optimizing your inventory space and combining objects, you have to combine the same treasures before selling them, buy some objects by mindlessly clicking on what's available, again and again, leaving not much time for the fun stuff, the appeal of the original Save Room: tidying up your inventory.
i wish i could give a more neutral review, but i guess ill give it a negative review because this game is worse than the previous game. the extra story, updated graphics and puzzle gameplay is awesome. i really enjoy the save room formula. the problem with this game is the whole merchant angle. i get what they were trying to do, but it slows the game play to a halt for me. its not fun nor interesting, it just adds tedium. it is essentially just menuing as a core game mechanic and i think it brings the entire experience down. im still going to finish it, because i like the puzzle section, but its pretty bad when a puzzle game that i loved and 100% in one long sitting has a sequel that bored me i under an hour because of its NEW game mechanics.
Once again, my criticism of this game comes from a place of love: I loved the first Save Room, and I can see this one miss the mark only because the devs wanted to nail it too hard.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 4 sampled reviews and is not shown.
