Neon Echo

This game satisfies the itch of good combat with rogue-like elements, great difficulty curving for those that want a challenge, and has a great gameplay loop that helps you get stronger to accomplish more, similarly to Skul or Ember Knights, but in more detailed and specific ways.

I love roguelikes, roguelites, metroidvanias and all that 2D side-scrolling combat goodness.

The voice acting, while cringey at times and clearly made by ESL VAs, has heart and the writing is fairly decent if nothing too special.

This is an amazing roguelike platformer, with gorgeous visuals, a nice and fitting soundtrack, and solid mechanics that make you want to go back for another run and pick another set of items to test them out.

Difficulty feels well balanced. game felt difficult at the start, but you learn.

In fact, a ton of detail, care and love has gone into the various special effects, character design and art to give it futuristic neon-rave feel and somehow, without agitating the holly hell out of my astigmatism.
