Twinsen's world quickly became one of my favorites for all of its zany characters and endearing charm.
It has a vibrant art style and upbeat soundtrack, and mostly a rich, populated world.
I'd usually be against changes to the look and gameplay of a beloved retro game, but - honestly - I'm behind it.
Kudos also to Philippe Vachey and David Gasman, who after 27 years, were happy to return to re-score the soundtrack, and voice the protagonist, respectively - this definitely adds further authenticity to the project!
One of the more tedious aspects of the original game was the mechanics: Veteran players will (probably) not miss the original tank controls/four "behaviour modes", as navigation has now been modernised with full controller support if desired.
I had lots of fun playing this game on Steam Deck and despite the system warning, it plays extremely well.
