I'm not sure where I picked Dream up, but the narrative and dialogue hooked me right away, and the simple gameplay and gorgeous world were enough to keep me there and the weird and interesting rewards for exploring brought it up a level.
Both NaissanceE and The Stanley Parable, for comparison, more linear but slightly similar titles with equally attractive visuals and more polish, and I'd argue much more engaging overall, are around 25% cheaper and so probably better purchases when choice matters.
The soundtrack is worth pointing out as being good, but like the game, it's quite mellow and ambient, and justifying half the cost of the game again isn't realistic.
