Papo & Yo

I thought it was just one of those mediocre platformers at first, but surprisingly, puzzles are more dominant, and if you want to put story and artwork in the equation, those two are what make the game shines the most.

It deals with an abusive, alcoholic parent and makes clever use of a child's imagination/escapism to explore the themes in an innocent way with the game mechanics.

Pros: young black male protagonist, beautiful world to explore inspired by Brazilian favelas, In-game graffiti graphics licensed from real Brazilian street artists, meaningful narrative of addiction, violence, and child abuse.

-great soundtrack, i almost want to listen to some of the music while i take a nap

-the game is never too hard and never too easy, i never had to search up a walkthrough, but i also never easily made it through each puzzle either. its the perfect balance of challenge and non rage inducing difficulty
