Well...with Age of Wonders 4 around the corner it may still be worth trying from a story perspective or comparison.
The game has a wide vareity of races and leader types to play as and has a ton of replayability becasue of it unfortunatley though the larger game (6 to 8 players) can take forever (40 hours) and by the half way point everyone has the highest level units and are basically just spaming them at each other.
The visuals are also stunning—many images are worthy to be put in a frame.

I love the soundtrack in this game.
Nice and smooth classic interface, definately better than in the first 2 games.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
