The colorful and detailed pixel art graphics create a visually appealing experience that pays homage to the genre's roots while incorporating modern gameplay elements.

Each dungeon is a bite-sized (15-50 mins) piece of deep tactics, with rouge-like generation and a huge roster of characters, items and boons to keep it fresh.

Something I enjoy about the game is how it never takes itself too seriously - the dialogue is quite amusing and there's a lot of funny little sidequests and subdungeons.

They double as great ways to learn more information about the various items, weapons, spells, deities and conversion materials on offer, and though not everyone will need them, they're highly advised if you're having difficulty completing certain quests or dungeons.

That's when things started getting tough, and it was at about that time that the full Steam release arrived, this one complete with Granny K's masterpiece soundtrack.
