The controls are simple enough that I was able to accomplish everything I need fairly nicely with the Steam Deck controller, although after I remapped some of the buttons on the controller to match the keyboard commands for things like opening the inventory or the map (which only took me a min or two), I was off again and it felt really great playing it on the Steam Deck.
