Sunrider 4: The Captain's Return

Familiar faces such as Ava, Asaga, Sola, Icari, and Claude help give the adventure a strong sense of continuity, while additional characters and threats prevent the campaign from feeling like a simple reunion tour.

Sunrider 4: The Captain’s Return expands the series with a confident mixture of visual novel storytelling, science-fiction drama, character relationships, mech customization, and turn-based tactical battles.

This connection between character interaction and combat progression is one of the better ways the game combines its two genres.

It’s a virtual novel we can’t really talk about graphics but the art is drawn in a classic anime style, the music is again a classic anime sound and the game does not crash at all (I’ve had a lot of issues with previous games especially after I upgraded my PC).

Partial Japanese voice acting adds personality to important moments, although players expecting every line of dialogue to be voiced should temper their expectations.

Other supporting characters are better, except Claude who is just a terrible character at this point, especially when the story takes a heavy multi-verse/ multi-timeline direction, but honestly all the non playable characters still feel a bit stale.
