What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
If you play video games long enough, there comes a certain point at which you come to realise that for all the back story, personality and unique traits that player character may have, they are ultimately a toy with no moral weight behind them.
All things considered, Empty Shell is not a groundbreaking game, however it has the right mix of solid gameplay, atmosphere and distinct style to make it stand apart from the competition.
The combat, art style, sound design, and atmosphere are all great.
The game is worth the cash and while it doesn't lack replayablity the balance in some moments really ruins all the fun you had although it is still fairly new and it is still really fun in some parts. also this game would go perfectly with a form of endless mode or unlikely but would be cool is a co-op or multiplayer.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
