The quick gameplay of this game is amazing. You can first more slowly go through the level to learn the layout. The combo system encourages a cosistent pace but isnt so strict that you have to go fast the entire time. Then you have to go back to the beginning before the timer runs out.Going thropugh parts you already played mighht seem borring at first but the game makes it supprisingly fun.You can use the knowledge you memorized on your way to the end to go through the level really fast after getting to the end but the layout also changes a little bit and sometimes even massively. The game is really good at making the way back really intense and fun with many unique ideas and layouts but theres also that great feeling of going through the stuff you previously went through slowly really fast.
But core gameplay is very fun and versatile, the soundtrack is great and difficult bosses for the first few times around
The art style no..style in general is also fantastic.Everything is so overexpressive and weird that it gives the game a unique charm in general.I also really like the bosses. They sometimes have very strict patterns but EVERY boss is unique and has just as unpredictable ideas as the levels.
Peppino is genuinely fun to control on keyboard, controller and even on mobile using steam link, even the noise is enjoyable, the music of the entire game is so good, my favourite has to be the escape themes for both characters and wasteyards music, they all are my favourite, the pixel art is so detailed and such good quality getting achievements are fun and kinda hard to collect but im aiming to 100% this game getting all 74 achievements without killing snotty, over all this is a unbeatable 10 out of 10, I definitely recommend it to people who are big fans of the wario land series.
I've also heard controller for this game is good and if you plan on playing keyboard and mouse, setup Keybinds very early on, p-ranking the game and understanding that it was too late for me to switch controls just left my right fingers in agony
The modding community have a lot of character mods that redraw all of Peppino's sprites, extra laps if you find the game too easy and they even made multiplayer
+1 more the community rallied around
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
